Natchez Trace – Meriwether Lewis Park

Short camping trip to Meriwether Lewis Park off the Natchez Trace Parkway – Meriwether Lewis of Lewis and Clark fame lost his life there from a couple of gunshot wounds…much debate on whether self-inflicted or from someone there at the local inn.

Anyhow, the trip was a good opportunity to use some of the gear – cooked some freeze dried chicken n rice for dinner and oatmeal and grits for breakfast.   Shanon did terrific since she had the mattress…Me? – quite a few rocks on the ground making for a restless night, but the weather was terrific and a nice fire last night made up for it!

HTL-Strefa Supports Rally Around the World in So Many Ways

HTL-Strefa made a generous donation to Rally Foundation…so grateful for the support!  Additionally, Jarek Moleda, president & CEO, has helped me in so many ways to include assistance in obtaining my Russian VISA, providing contacts in Russia, Poland and other parts of the world to help me with assistance if needed as I make this trek around the world – invalueable to have while traveling solo around-the-world.

To take it even further, HTL-Strefa’s business development director, Piotr Mlodecki, plans to meet me at the Russian/Latvian border and ride on to Lithuania, Poland (his home) and to Berlin, Germany…I am so looking forward to having Piotr ride with me for a few days.

HTL-Strefa is the world’s leading manufacturer of safety and personal lancets, as well as pen needles. Their products are sold to the biggest medical companies that are provided with their high quality goods. They care about the security of medical personnel and patients all over the world.

Global Tracking – See Where Brad is Today!

Just added a link to InstaMapper allowing folks visiting my blog to see just where I am on my around-the-world ride via GPS tracking in real time.  Troy Lampley, one of our IT guys here at NDC, was able to link the site with some of his magic – it wasn’t just plug-n-play.

Using my Droid smart phone, my ground positions are updated via satellite every 121 seconds from anywhere in the world – crazy stuff!!

HJC CL-MAX Repair

After a brief ride the night before last, the face portion of the HJC helmet failed at the hinge points – a weak design with small screws. Stopped by my local Lowe’s and found some aluminum fittings, drilled larger holes and refitted…now far stronger than new!
